Confirm the pay model

Look for wording such as 243 ways, ways to win, fixed paylines or selectable lines in the help panel. Record reel and row counts. If a version uses a different number of ways during a feature, capture the base-game and feature states separately.

Trace adjacent-reel symbols

For a ways award, identify matching symbols starting from the required edge and count their occurrences on each consecutive reel. The number of combinations is commonly the product of those occurrence counts, subject to the exact paytable. Scattered matching symbols on non-adjacent reels may not form the same award.

Apply the stated bet basis
